Join Cultural Vistas and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for an exclusive preview of opportunities to study, intern and research in Germany

(Re)Discovering Germany will be an inaugural event in Houston, and is designed primarily as a workshop for faculty, staff, and administrators in tertiary and secondary education.

Come and get the latest information on research funding and collaboration, student internships and fellowships, and opportunities for institutional relationships. There will be time for questions and discussion with a networking lunch reception to follow.

The workshop format will feature:

  • Just announced! Welcome remarks by Consul General of Houston, Ricarda Redeker, and commemoration of German Unity Day at Rice University's Berlin Wall Memorial
  • Presentation of programs and funding through Cultural Vistas and DAAD
  • Q&A panel and discussion
  • Networking luncheon and information fair


Registration is free but limited. Please note that the workshop is not intended for students but do feel free to invite any colleagues who might be interested in attending.

The workshop will be hosted at the Baker Institute of Public Policy at Rice University. Further location details and directions for parking will be sent to all registered attendees prior to the workshop.
